To slip or not to slip, that is the question.
Most who ask why I don’t use a boat slip are past or present slip holders with pleasure boats that cruise area waters. Being a full time fishing guide on Lake Erie, my needs and areas of operation change as the seasons do.
So in summary, here are my top 10 reasons that I choose to trail my boat daily:

I found an amazing product out of oregon for those of us who use electric trolling motors. It will change the way we drift and troll on the great lakes or any lake for that matter. Check out these videos and the website

Frozen Lake Erie
Its March 5th and Lake Erie is still about 96% frozen. I am hoping and praying that warm spring weather hits Western NY very soon. I am told by ice fishermen that the ice is not nearly as thick as it was last year at this time, 40 plus inches in some areas. I am cautiously optimistic that we will be on the water catching big smallmouth bass but the 2nd week of May. A lot of pra… Read More

Watch the video and you will see for yourself and also check out Scott’s web site… Read More

Erie Dearie walleye fishing on Lake Erie

He had used them successfully in the Western Basin of Erie until he retired a few years back. Most of the walleye caught in the Eastern Basin where I do my guiding, are taken in water depths from 25 to 75 feet and most of that is by trol… Read More
Walleye worm harnesses that work
The last 2 weeks the walleye bite on the eastern end of Lake Erie near Buffalo New York, can only be phrased as incredible. The massive schools of walleye that roam the western basin in Ohio make their annual journey east to follow schools of bait as they also journey along. This movement provides new york anglers an opportunity to clean house on big schools of big walters. The… Read More
